Realcold Millers Mechanical has developed a hock restraint system to
provide improved safety during downward hide pulling operations and
certainty of production.
What does the System do?
The system supports the body by the hocks throughout the hide
pulling process. The forces from the hide removal operation are no
longer taken by the dressing trolley hooks and the hind tendons.
How does the System work?
The two skids or rollers are positioned to suit the hock
restrainer. The restrainer extends and grips the hocks, with the
hydraulics locking out. The restrainer on completion of hide removal
retracts, returns and is sterilized, ready for the next cycle.
Realcold Millers Mechanical can integrate the hock system into the
hide pulling sequence to provide improved safety and certainty of
production.
Features:
- Holds back during hide removal in positive manner.
- Robust construction.
- Hydraulic operation.
- PLC controlled to integrate with slaughter system.
- Incorporates dunk steriliser to sterilize hock holder.
- Designed for 2,000 kg animals and full over the head down pulling operations.
Benefits:
- Reduces risk of cattle being pulled down because of hock tendon issues or accidental damage during skinning.
- Able to cope with processing needs with certainty.
- Simple and positive hydraulic system that locks out for certainty of action during hide removal.
- Ensures required sterilization between animals.
- Can handle any animals and is suitable for Realcold Millers Mechanical, Steriline or other downward pullers.
